Welcome to the APA of Manatee and Sarasota Counties Homepage! If you have never played in the APA, or maybe never even played pool, don't worry. The APA is the biggest amateur league in the country. It doesn't matter who you are or how good you are, the APA is all about fun! It's a night out with your friends, family, or co-workers, where you can meet great people, and have a great time. All active members can register on the website to check out their stats and the stats of their teams. All stats will be updated on a weekly basis. Remember, YOU MUST BE A REGISTERED MEMBER ON THE WEBSITE TO PARTICIPATE! That means to vote in the polls, or participate in the forums, so be sure to register and take full advantage of all of the benefits of the Website! Not a member of the APA but would like to be? 9-Ball in Sarasota! Getting tired of 8-ball? Want something different? How about 9-ball? The game is easy to learn and quick to play! And with our handicap system, fair as well. Give it a try! We are starting a 9-ball Division in Sarasota on Wednesdays at 7:00pm. Thanks to all who came to the Players Meeting! It's not too late to join, just contact the League Office and we'll sign you up. We can always use more teams and players. The Summer Session will begin on Wednesday, May 7th. There are many Host Locations looking for teams including: Detention, Hurricane Mike's, Kirby's, Champions Pub, 8-Ball Lounge, and T'Katz, and many more. Your favorite hangout not on the list? Summer Session Players/Captains Meeting for all Bradenton Divisions will be held on Thursday, May 22nd at 7:00pm at Tink's Lounge, located at 3102 53rd Avenue East, Bradenton 34203. All existing teams should have at least one member present, and all players are welcome. All new teams should have as many players present as possible and are required to have at least one member present.
Double Jeopardy is Here! Would you like to play both 8- and 9-ball, but you don't have the time to commit to playing two nights a week? Then Double Jeopardy is the answer! Double Jeopardy is both 8- and 9-ball, played against the same opponent, at the same time, on two tables. It only takes about 30 minutes more then a regular League night and, best of all, it takes place on Sunday afternoons at 3:00pm, so there are no late nights out! Football is over anyway, right? So, what else do you have to do on Sundays! For those of you who are NASCAR fans, there are several large screen TV's to watch the racing action on. Double Jeopardy is hosted by the Boar's Head Tavern, at 6523 Gateway Avenue in Sarasota, and the tables are free all the time, so the only cost to you is the League fees. What more can you ask for? Want to Travel? We're still looking for more teams to participate in the Tuesday Night Traveling Division in Bradenton. We've got lots of locations, they're just looking for teams! Scalawag's, Chaps, Aces Lounge, AMF Bradenton Lanes, In-Cahoots, and Mulligan's are ready for teams. Stay tuned for more available host locations as they sign up, so get your team together and get ready to play! We can have leagues out of any willing location. Just ask the manager at your favorite place to play if they will host your team. We'll be glad to talk to them and answer any questions that they may have, just have them contact us! Jack and Jill You guys love 'em, so we'll keep having 'em. The next Jack and Jill Tournament is at Papa Joe's Sports Bar, 1242 Whitfield Avenue, Saturday, May 17th at 7:00pm. By now, you know the drill: 1 guy- 1 girl teams, $10 entry per couple, race to 2, double elimination, 8-ball on the win side, 9-ball on the back and, of course, 100% payback!
